Case Title: Al amyloidosis in bone marrow biopsy with Congo red stain Category: Multiple myeloma and related plasma cell neoplasm Author(s): Dr.Hiba HamidDr. Alaa A. Ali , Dr. Eman Qassim , Case Description: 60 years old female presented with macroglosia .CBC and blood film were normal .BMA show slightly hypercellular marrow with no significant abnormalities.BMB hypercellular with preserved architecture in general except one piece of marrow biopsy shows few blood vessels with thickening in their wall by deposition of pinkish amorphous material as well as an area showing extracellular deposition of that substance (amyloid).
Immunophenotyping revealing monoclonal plasma cells in the bone marrow is a significant finding.
highly suggestive morphologically of amyloidosis and it was confirmed by Congo red stain under fluorescence microscopy . Date : 2025-01-12 Submitted By : Dr.Hiba Hamid
